If you have been looking for a short break holiday cottage in Normandy, Wheel House Gîte is the perfect place to be, and with availability from just one night, is ideal for a break if you are travelling further south from one of northern France’s UK ports or airports.
Wheel House Gîte is newly-renovated to a great standard, and has been home to Debbie and Bob Caisley while they completed their main house renovation. Now work is finished, they are living their dream in the pretty village of Vauce, set in tranquil countryside in the Mayenne department of the Pays de la Loire region, and they are ready to begin renting out their now holiday cottage for short breaks and longer holidays. Their holiday cottage is located right on the borders of Normandy and Brittany, and is easily accessible from the ports and airports of Caen, St Malo, Le Havre, Dinard and Roscoff.
Since completion earlier this year, Wheel House Gîte has welcomed some warm and lovely guests, both English and French, and many of these guests have selected the short break holiday cottage for just a few days. The results have been great, and already Wheel House Gîte has enjoyed some great reviews from Booking.com guests, in addition to friends and family.
Why is it hard to find a short break holiday cottage in France?
Many gîte owners prefer to rent out their holiday cottages for long periods during the summer, ideally two weeks. Because of this, the majority do not make short breaks available, which is why you will find it such a rarity to discover a gem for just one night! Most weary travellers are faced with overnight stays in the many ‘Aires’ en-route from the northern ports, or simply lay their heads in a truck stop or roadside relay house. Wheel House Gîte also operates all-year-round!
Wheel House Gîte offers home comforts and a completely private experience in your short break holiday cottage, with a self-contained gîte and off-road parking. You will find UK TV channels via a Freeview box, and free WiFi to keep you entertained. The full kitchen and bathroom facilities offer you a chance to prepare yourselves some dinner and take a leisurely bath or shower before you continue your journey.
We don’t have any hidden charges, and won’t charge you for cleaning, even just for a single night, so the price you see is the price you pay! We do have a damage deposit, but this is standard, and we have never had to deduct anything yet from our guests.
So, if you are looking for a short break holiday cottage in Normandy or north-west France, look no further than Wheel House Gîte. Debbie and Bob look forward to meeting you.
